In this presentation Jack will explain the FM Maturity Review model as well as managing an FM improvement/change program and how this adds value to the University. He then will focus on how an Integrated Workplace management system (IWMS) can support bring value to an FM or Property team. In specific he will focus on the business case for an IWMS and successful implementation.
A question and answer opportunity will be held at the end of the session.
OUR SPEAKER
Jack has an extensive background in Facility Management (FM), Procurement and Corporate Real Estate in the Netherlands and has worked in the last 18 years for some large property portfolio organisations such as Westfield, Excell Corporation, Westpac New Zealand and KiwiRail. In 2015, Jack started as director for PRISMA Facilities Management. PRISMA provides facility & asset management and corporate real estate business consultancy. Since March 2015 he has operated as an acting Associate Director and FM Transformation Project Manager at Auckland University of Technology, acting FM manager at Waikato University, acting National FM at Fisher & Paykel Global to name a few.
Jack is currently IWMS project manager at AUT University and FM change manager at University of Canterbury, where he undertook an FM Maturity Review in 2022 and consequently project manages an FM Improvement plan, including the implementation of an IWMS.
Some other projects : Jack completed a full business review for a cleaning service provider, was involved as consultant to several major cleaning tenders, full FM and Property Management review for some large Government Departments as well as FM Health checks for National and Local Government as well as larger corporates. His business consultancy ranges from the set-up of an outsourced Helpdesk and hybrid management model of in-house FM management and the support of an FM integrator for specific services. Jack also advises companies on business analysis and improvement strategies and has an extensive background in FM and AM reviews, developing Asset management Plans & maintenance plans as well as (technical) building services reviews. With his extensive FM experience, he has undertaken many asset condition assessments and provided Asset Management Plans and strategies to a wide range of organisations in New Zealand and overseas.
Jack has presented at many Summits and Conferences such as Corenet, FMANZ, Clean NZ Summit, organised by BSC as well as several other associations. Jack is a senior lecturer for the FM & Asset Management paper at AUT School of Engineering, supporting master classes for FMANZ and is a guest lecturer for Bright*Star on “Best Practices in Facilities Management as well as Property and Asset Management”.
Jack is a very experienced Facilities Manager, business consultant and professional leadership coach. Jack is a certified Facility Manager at IFMA and an accredited Professional Facility Manager via FMANZ . Since 2011, he also holds a Master in Corporate Real Estate via Corenet Global. Jack received a Senior Leadership Corporate Real Estate certificate in November 2017, one of the two in New Zealand at present.
