The first regional event for 2016 is being hosted by Deakin University at their Melbourne City Centre, Level 3, 550 Bourke Street (Deloitte Building), Melbourne.

Over the past few years there has been significant change across the different university facility and property management groups in Victoria. There has been a generational change with a large number of new appointments made at the senior management levels within the groups. In addition, different organisational models have been developed. Where once there was a similar structure undertaking facility and property management across universities, there are now a number of models where traditional functions have been split across several areas.

We believe there is a real benefit to our different groups coming together to discuss common issues, building networks and sharing our perceptions and beliefs as to where the sector is heading and the implications for facilities within our universities.

The primary purpose of this regional meeting is to enable senior managers to meet with their counterparts from each of the Victorian universities and to build relationships across our facility and property groups. We ask that each university attending present a short (5 to 10 minutes) presentation covering:

  • Their current organisational structure particularly as regards the primary responsibilities, e.g. capital projects, facility maintenance, space planning, timetabling, asset management, cleaning, sustainability, security, grounds and landscape.
  • What are the three most pressing issues facing their facility and property management groups? We will end the session with an informal ‘meet and greet’ over drinks and food.

We would be very pleased if you and your senior management teams could attend the meeting. There is no cost for the meeting and we believe the benefits will be considerable.

Looking forward to meeting you.
