TEFMA Grounds Workshop Report

The TEFMA Ground Workshop:A Green Campus was held on the 14th and 15th of November 2017 in Sydney.  Seventy delegates from Australia and New Zealand met over two days at The University of Sydney's Holme Building in Camperdown.  A range of engaging industry experts and professional speakers formed the program which included sessions on:

• Greening our Campus
• Technology and Benchmarking
• Sustainability and The Student Experience
• Turf and Sport Field Technology
• Green Wall Design, Installation and Maintenance

Attendees experienced three grounds tours, with one each at UNSW, The University of Sydney and One Central Park where they witnessed the world's tallest vertical garden. As with all workshops, there was plenty of opportunity to catch up with fellow guests, and the first night was capped off with a dinner at The University of Sydney where keynote speaker David Engwicht shared some interesting insights into his background.

Curtin University, Deakin University and Otago University have all indicated they would be interested in hosting the next Grounds Workshop. This clearly demonstrates the level of benefit delegates received from attending and their enthusiasm to see another workshop created.
