Dear Colleagues, As the 2023 calendar year comes to a close, can I, on behalf of the TEFMA Board, wish you all the very best for the upcoming festive season, and trust you get a chance to relax, spend time with family and friends and rejuvenate for what will no doubt be a busy 2024!
It gives me great pleasure to once again release the TEFMA 2022 Benchmark Insights Publication. The report focusses on the five headline key performance indicators included in the 2020 and 2021 reports, includes case studies and also brings an international favour, with US and UK data included for some of the benchmark metrics. We look to build on this work in subsequent editions.
We trust this report will continue to facilitate conversations and act as an important engagement tool for institutional members, governance structures, business partners, international partners, sector bodies and associations (in particular Universities Australia and Universities New Zealand) and various levels of government. It strengthens our position as the primary advisory Association for higher education-built environment professionals across Australia and Aotearoa / New Zealand.
This benchmark analysis publication continues to be available only to members as a valuable tool to use in 2024. We believe this publication demonstrates that TEFMA continues to provide unique sector insights and value for our members in addition to our other publications and professional development offerings.
On behalf of the Board, I wish to acknowledge the efforts and pass on my gratitude to the Special Interest Group who contributed to build this new product, Arup and all TEFMA members and institutions represented. Well done! The TEFMA 2022 Benchmark Insights Report can be found here.

TEFMA24Conference - planning is well underway on next year’s Conference in Auckland, Aotearoa / New Zealand. The Local Organising Committee have convened and are putting together a fantastic conference for you. Further details will be provided on the official Conference website early in 2024.
We also remind all members to take the time to jump online and view the TEFMA Community portal with the aim to foster a culture of collaboration through sharing and engaging with the resources available in the library. The information is intended to generate discussion, build relationships with peers and learn from one another. I am encouraged by the level of collaboration to date and it is a great resource, particularly for new members to the sector, to engage and assist with the daily life of practitioner in the Sector responsible for all thing property, estate and facilities management.
In closing, on behalf of the TEFMA Board, we send our well wishes to all our valued members, Business Partners and Strategic Partners, and wish you, your staff and your families a safe, restful and well-earned break over the holiday period.
